We’re seeking a dedicated Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant to join our dynamic team at Coastal City Animal Hospital.
What You’ll Do:
Client Interaction:
- Greet clients warmly and assist them with check-in procedures.
- Handle phone calls, schedule appointments, and address client inquiries.
- Provide information about clinic services, policies, and basic pet care.
Appointment Scheduling:
- Efficiently manage the appointment schedule, ensuring optimal utilization of veterinary resources.
- Coordinate with veterinary staff to accommodate emergency cases and prioritize appointments.
Administrative Support:
- Maintain accurate client records and update patient information in the system.
- Process client payments, issue invoices, and handle financial transactions.
- Manage filing systems and organize paperwork to ensure a tidy and efficient workspace.
Communication Liaison:
- Facilitate effective communication between clients and veterinary staff.
- Relay important information to pet owners regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up appointments.
Animal Handling Assistance:
- Assist with managing pets in the waiting area, ensuring a calm and controlled environment.
- Coordinate with veterinary technicians for the safe and efficient handling of animals.
Problem Resolution:
- Address client concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to find solutions to client issues.

Your Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in veterinary office management is a plus.
- Proven experience in customer service or receptionist roles, preferably in a veterinary or medical setting.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in basic computer applications and veterinary management software.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with composure and maintain a positive attitude.
- Comfortable working with animals and understanding basic pet care principles.
- Compassionate and empathetic towards clients and their pets.
- Organized and detail-oriented with excellent multitasking abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team player.
- Adaptable to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
