Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

JOB DUTIES: This diverse role offers a multitude of opportunities to learn and support our team of professional, highly skilled and caring Veterinarians and Registered Technicians. Duties include, but are not limited to;

• Providing exception client and patient service at our front desk reception ; client education, triage, appointment scheduling, medical record management, patient check-ins and cash reconciliation
• Supporting in-clinic patient care ; feeding, grooming, weigh-in, post-surgical TPR, walks, specimen collection, safe restraint, soothing upset or frightened animals
• Taking the lead on daily clinic cleaning and sterilization tasks; sterilizing surgical equipment and facilities, sanitizing kennels, cleaning of treatment and examination facilities , endless laundry, surgical pack preparation, inventory management

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: To be successful in this role, you will require;

• A minimum of a high school diploma
• Previous experience volunteering or working with animals
• Previous customer service experience and computer competency with Microsoft office applications (word, excel, outlook) and database entry
• Additional post-secondary experience in a related field such as Veterinary Assistant, Medical Office
• Assistant or Office Administration may be given preference
• Experience with cleaning and facility maintenance would be highly valued

Salary: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week
