POSITION:Wholesale Greenhouse Office/Production Assistant

WAGE: $21 hr to start

ABOUT US:

Hilltop Greenhouses is a family run, wholesale nursery, that has been in business for over 50 years!

Hilltop Greenhouses Ltd is looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking person to join our team. This hybrid office/greenhouse, fast paced position will offer a variety of job duties through out the seasons. This new team member will be a positive individual that possesses strong interpersonal skills. This position will be full time 40 hours per week in the busy seasons and reduced hours in the slow season. Days and Hours will vary based off the needs of the operation.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the below.

Office:

· Answering the phones

· Taking orders

· Entering orders

· Replying to emails

· Helping walk in customers

· Taking payment from customers

· Assisting customers loading plants into their vehicles

· Supporting the Sales and A/R team members when they are away

· Updating our plant software with inventory numbers

· Ad hoc duties as required

Greenhouses:

· Counting and tracking plants

· Entering inventory into software

· Organizing plants to have the ready to sell plants in front

· Helping to clean the plants, getting them ready for sale

· Communicating with the production supervisor when plants need extra attention

· Supporting the picking and packing procedures

· Helping maintain a clean environment

· Ad hoc duties as required

No previous experience is necessary, as we will train the right individual. Below are the highlights we are looking for in our new team member.

· Previous Greenhouse Experience is NOT required, however, knowledge of plants would be considered favourable

· Must be able to work with a diverse group of individuals

· Basic computer skills

· Positive attitude is a must

· Have a strong work ethic

· Be detail oriented

· Basic math skills required

· Excellent organizational skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Ability to follow directions given and ask questions when you don’t understand

· Must have own transportation – we are not on a bus route

Working Conditions:

· We are a greenhouse environment – there is dirt!

· Fast paced

· Standing or sitting for long periods of time

· Bending, crouching, kneeling

· Can be physically demanding

Salary: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
