Due to growth and expansion of our portfolio, we have an immediate opening for an experienced Accounting Technician.
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the V.P. Finance, the Accounting Technician will be primarily responsible for the full cycle of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creating invoices and recording payments collected from tenants;
- Receiving, coding, and distributing supplier invoices for approval;
- Entering supplier invoices into the accounting system;
- Issuing checks and sending payments to suppliers;
- Reviewing and entering expense reports into the accounting system;
- Preparing GST and QST reports.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Required level of education and job-related skills:
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential; knowledge of the real estate industry is considered an asset.
Specific skills:
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
- Strong understanding of accounting systems and software, experience using Spectra and Simply Accounting is an asset
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- A team player who can develop and sustain cooperative working relationships
