About the Opportunity
The Administrative Assistant reports to the Director of Health Services, Site Lead. The Administrative Assistant coordinates all administrative requirements and activities for Health Services Managers within the Aberdeen Regional Hospital. The Administrative Assistant provides confidential administrative support, works within an administrative team environment, and acts as a liaison between managers. The Administrative Assistant provides relief to administrative staff and functions.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Graduate of a recognized office administration program/business program/secretarial program
- Three (3) to five (5) years of administrative experience OR a combination of equivalent education, training, and experience
- Respects being privy to confidential portfolio information such as human resource materials and financial data; ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Understands and works within the formal and informal influences and decision-making relationships within the organization
- Ability to identify what issues should be brought to the attention of managers affecting program effectiveness or efficiency
- Is a self-starter in achieving position related goals
- Takes action beyond explicit job responsibilities
- Sets high performance goals, understands which decisions can be made alone and which require consultation with others and acts accordingly
- The incumbent maintains an awareness of internal and external issues that may impact on the department/organization
- Well-developed abilities and skills in all facets of modern office practices and technology and with information and meeting technologies
- Works effectively during periods of high activity and with varying personality styles and tasks
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritizing and organizational skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours
- Long Assignment, Full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
- This position is approximately 18 months in length
Compensation and Incentives
$21.58 - $26.98 Hourly
