What role you will play in our team
A Northern Development Program Administrative Assistant position is available at Imperial’s Norman Wells, Northwest Territories location. This is a term position providing up to one year paid internship with the possibility of a one-year extension.
This is an excellent opportunity for an administrative person to gain valuable experience in an office environment with industry. Interns will be trained and mentored in a supportive work environment. Imperial believes that mutually beneficial relationships with Local Indigenous Peoples are critical to the success of our company.
The posting is intended for applicants who qualify as Indigenous Sahtu Beneficiary. Proof of enrollment must be included with your application.
What you will do
-Preparing monthly utility bills
-Fuel tracking and reconciliation
-Reconciling inventory
-Filing
-Timekeeping
-Other Administrative duties subject to change
About you
Skills and Qualifications
-High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is a minimum requirement.
-Business Administrative Diploma or Office Administration Diploma preferred.
 
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
-Proven experience as an Administrative Assistant
-Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
-Working knowledge of office equipment: computers, printers, copiers
-Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, Word, and OneNote)
-Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
-Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
-Valid driver’s license
