The Aerostructure Market of Héroux-Devtek focuses on a complete line of precision machined structural components and assemblies, from simple aluminum parts to large monolithic five-axis complex components.
Summary of position:
The Assistant Controller reports to the Kitchener Controller and oversees all financial, and accounting of the plant.
Working closely with the General Manager, the Assistant Controller will have two reports: Sr. Financial Analyst and Accounting Clerk and is part of the Management team. The ideal candidate will have a clear understanding of reporting requirements for a publicly traded company, be detail oriented and be comfortable working with various departments.
In addition, the incumbent will have strong organizational and teamwork skills, be organized, and can work independently with internal and external professionals at all levels.
This role requires a successful Controlled Goods Program security clearance.
Main responsibilities:
- Work with Controller to complete annual 5-year budget, strategic planning, and regular forecasting.
- Complete monthly & quarterly financial reporting including financial statements,
- Ensure team maintains all GL account reconciliations.
- Report on KPIs
- Provide financial insight to all management & support all functional areas;
- Liaison for annual financial audit and twice a year Bill 198 (52-109) audit
- Lead annual physical inventory count and ensure cycle count process is maintained throughout year
- Communicate with Corporate office on financial data and business activities (tax, insurance etc.) as required;
- Other analysis and projects as required;
- Lead and develop your team to be timely, accurate and efficient in release of information;
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- At least 5 years experience in a Sr. Financial role
- Functional experience with automated accounting systems
- CPA designation or working towards it
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word Outlook) and ERP software
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
