Assistant Superintendent

Position Summary

Reporting to the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent is responsible for estimating of minor renovations, coordinating and planning work as well as providing shift relief for the Superintendent. You will work closely with staff located in town as well as Project Management, the Procurement Department, and various vendors.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide estimates for small projects.
• Ensure that all work orders are planned, material ordered, received, and staged to be ready for scheduling.
• Work with the project team through various stages of projects.
• Act as Superintendent capacity when required on team leadership and work scheduling.
• Review tender packages.
• Provide site walk-downs and inspections.
• Develop scopes of work
• Read construction drawings.
• Develop materials take-offs and verify stock.
• Assist with material requisitions, researching pricing and specifications.
• Updating work orders with the current work status and notations
• Provide reporting and documentation on various jobs and work completed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma
• 5 years experience working in a trades-based environment.
• Experience in building maintenance and construction and asset
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• Willingness to mentor unskilled trades staff.
• Must be able to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner
• Strong work ethic, positive team attitude and strong customer service focus
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanor
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Highly conscientious, along with an energetic “can do” spirit approach to duties

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $80,000.00 per year
