Reporting to the Project Manager, the Assistant Superintendent - Insulation will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completely safe, efficient and to satisfy the clients and Bird’s regulations.This position is in Toronto but could include worksites across Ontario.
What you will be working on:
- Estimate and requisition necessary materials and supplies
- Assign workers to specific tasks and monitor their progress
- Inspect the applied insulation for conformance to specifications and safety regulations
- Compile production and worker performance reports
- Resolve employee grievances and handle disciplinary issues
- Work closely with other construction trades and project managers to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of projects
- Developing project plans, schedules and budgets for insulation installation projects
- Understand and adhere to Bird’s safety management system, policies, procedures and values.
What we are looking for:
- Completion of a college or other program in insulation or a related field
- 10+ years of experience as an insulation worker
- Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and other relevant standards
- Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with both Industrial and commercial insulation
- Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships
- Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office including MS Project
- Evidence of exceptional leadership skills and ability to influence and work within informal teams
