Billing Coordinator

What We Need:

The Billing Coordinatoris responsible forsupporting our utility clients with day-to-day meter-to-cash processes and contact centre operations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Fulfill daily collections procedures as scheduled in a regulated industry
  • Issue reminder letters to customers
  • Initiate automated reminder phone calls
  • Complete outbound phone calls to customers in regard to outstanding account balances
  • Manage meter disconnect and reconnections with third party vendor
  • Manage collections related service orders
  • Respond to incoming customer inquiries (public and client related) through phone or email
  • Input data through manual and automated processes
  • Administer reporting through various platforms (Teleworks, consolidated usage, developer listings, customer counts, month end and year end reporting)
  • Process and track payment files (PAP, lockbox, web payments, cheques) as required
  • Generate daily, weekly, monthly statistics for reporting
  • Revise standard operating procedure documents as required
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and other tasks as assigned

Knowledge/Education

  • Bookkeeping experience or other financial skill sets are sought after but not mandatory

Experience

  • Experience with utility Customer Information System (CIS) applications is preferred.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a billing, accounting or other financial skill set is highly desirable.
  • Experience in a billing or customer service role within a utility is an asset.
