Reporting to the Director, Marketing, the Brand Manager role is responsible for executing the Tempur-Pedic business strategy for new and existing products within their defined categories. The Brand Manager is the brand advocate for their product category and ensures that new products and promotions enhance the brand and maintain brands’ positioning in the Canadian bedding market.
The Brand Manager works closely with the Product Development, Operations, Finance, Marketing Communications and Sales teams to launch new products and to drive product performance. The Brand Manager is the subject matter expert for the business, understanding market trends and bringing innovative concepts to market.
Responsibilities
- Develop product, channel, pricing, and promotional plans and actions needed to achieve annual sales and profit targets;
- Ensure packaging, advertising, PR, training, and POS align with the pillars of the Brand;
- Create excitement and momentum within cross-functional teams to complete key initiatives as planned and on time;
- Define differentiated and actionable consumer segments for each business and ensure strategies address each segment targeted;
- Manage product sales and profit performance;
- Understand drivers of any gaps to sales/profit performance and quickly develop action plans to close any gaps;
- Collaborate with Operations, finance and Sales to launch new products and optimize go-to-market strategies of existing products;
- Lead creative asset development to motivate the target audience to “take action”. Develop marketing communication materials hand in hand with Graphic Design team that is not only consumer facing but available to our internal teams for training.
- Collaborate with Consumer Insights to drive market segment analysis and identify emerging market segments;
- Solicit feedback from consumers, retailers and suppliers to improve existing products and launch new ones;
- Understand market trends through shopping the market, competitive deep dives and networking;
- Become the category expert within Brand and share those insights with Sales teams;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- BS/BA Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or other related field required;
- Minimum of 4-6 years of classical brand marketing experience is required, ideally from the consumer durable industry and in managing premium brand(s);
- Excellent organizational, time management and communication (written and verbal) skills;
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft suite of products including Excel and PowerPoint;
- Bilingual French an asset, but not a requirement.

- Previous experience working with emerging channels such as Amazon and Wayfair;

- You are efficient with your time and processes;
- You are detailed oriented and accurate with your information and work;
