Job Posting: Facilities Manager

We are looking for a seasoned professional to take the helm in overseeing all aspects of facility functionality for our multiple campuses in Edmonton, AB. This includes facilitating general building and property maintenance, asset management, contract and project management and volunteer team leadership.

Role responsibilities:
Property Management
- Shape and implement budgetary requirements for the maintenance of facilities and equipment.
- Leverage your technical and management prowess to ensure optimal maintenance of facilities and equipment.
- Craft and evaluate policies and procedures related to maintenance and property management.
- Oversee cleaning, waste disposal, security, and parking.
- Spearhead asset evaluation and management, strategizing future needs for our dynamic campuses.
- Establish and oversee a comprehensive preventative maintenance program.
- Infuse a safety-first culture throughout the organization with robust safety management systems.
Project Management
- Monitor and track facilities budgets, providing analysis and forecasting.
- Oversee project management for construction and renovations, from design to commissioning.
- Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, and inspections to manage various aspects of facility upkeep.
- Collaborate with the Executive Operations Director to oversee the Occupational Health and Safety Program.
- Align building security protocols with ministries for seamless deployment.
- Recruit, train, and lead a team of volunteers, fostering a positive and purpose-driven environment.
- Develop and implement a communications plan to ensure seamless information flow to impacted personnel across campuses.
What will make you thrive:
- 5-10 years of experience managing buildings, people, projects, and facilities.
- Building trades certification and/or facility management or related experience.
- Ability to trouble shoot, identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Strong time management skills.
- Proven leadership skills and proactive mindset.
- Meticulous attention to detail, analytical thinking, planning, and execution skills.
- Basic understanding of accounting and finance principles.
- Great leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and do other labor-intensive tasks.
- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are required for this position.
