Clean Energy BC (CEBC) is searching for a Communications Specialist who is enthusiastic about the renewable energy industry and passionate about reconciliation. The Communications Specialist is responsible for executing the association’s communication plan, capable of strategic and critical thinking in carefully articulating public facing communication materials including open eds, news letters, announcements, posting content on CEBC website and social media channels. The communication Specialist is responsible for supporting the Executive Director in preparing public announcements, presentations, and media outreach/interviews. This role also entails supporting the team in conference planning and execution, membership recruitment and engagement, and coordination of various committee activities. A core objective of this role is to understand the complexity of the clean energy market and clearly communicate the benefits the industry delivers to British Columbians through creative storytelling.
Key Function Tasks:
- Execute CEBC’s Communications Plan
- Write copy and develop graphics for newsletters, announcements, open ed, website, and
social media channels, including LinkedIn, Facebook & Instagram
- Develop content that features renewable energy project successes
- Support the Executive Director in preparing public announcements, speeches, presentations and media outreach/interviews
- Research market and content
- Generate social media and other communication related reports
- Work closely with Public Relations Committee and Government Relations Committee to
ensure that CEBC’s communication plans and their executions correctly reflect market trends and membership interests.
- Work collaboratively with CEBC’s industry partners, including the BC Government, BC Hydro and other industry associations and non-profit organizations

Experience:
- Previous experience with Canva is an asset, but a willingness to learn is key
- Previous experience managing social media channels is an asset
- Previous experience utilizing WordPress is an asset

Salary: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
