We're looking for a talented writer and editor, creative storyteller and strategic thinker who can help to communicate our strategy and key programs, boost our team's engagement and support our efforts to advance diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) across Prospera. The ideal candidate is curious by nature, loves to learn and try new things, and is a strong collaborator.
The Communications Specialist is responsible for Prospera's weekly internal newsletter and many of the stories and content on the intranet, helps to manage an internal communications calendar and provides strategic and tactical communications support on diverse programs and initiatives. This individual also contributes to the Annual Report and some press releases, as well as collaborates occasionally with the Marketing team on external communications
What you bring:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related field.
- Experience: Three or more years in a corporate communications role.
- Skills:
- Understands best practices and processes in internal communications, and can determine the best communications approach and channel, based on the subject, audience and urgency
- Excellent writing and editing skills (stories, FAQs, remarks…)
- A demonstrated team player who enjoys building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues across departments
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Advanced computer and desktop publishing skills
- Self-starter with the ability to balance multiple projects and priorities
- High degree of judgment, professionalism and discretion
- Detail oriented
- Excellent verbal communication skills
