Position: Community Content Creator

POSITION SCOPE:
The Community Content Creator is involved in all aspects of the development and implementation of Atikameksheng Anishnawbek's internal and external communication strategies. The Community Content Creator is responsible for promoting and protecting the First Nations reputation by developing and executing community relations and media relations strategies and plans for promotions, internal communications, and corporate public affairs initiatives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or related discipline.
- Strong working knowledge of communication principles and practices.
- Minimum of 1-3 years communications experience required.
Knowledge and Skills
- Must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication with strong writing and editorial abilities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite, WordPress, Adobe InDesign, internet, and other public relation tools.
- Must possess strong project management skills.
- Must be able to meet tight deadlines and execute flawlessly on projects in a fast-paced, often pressured environment and see a project through to completion
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in drafting and reviewing content for Atikameksheng Anishnawbek newsletter, flyer, and website.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and measuring external and internal communication plans and activities.
- Develop and implement communication materials and media content to inform Atikameksheng Anishnawbek community of Gimaa and Council and administration-led activities, events, and initiatives.
- Coordinate media requirements and ensure consistent communication content for community engagement sessions, workshops, meetings, and ceremonies.
- Develop communication materials to support and promote Atikameksheng Anishnawbek vision and mission statements, including message development, social media content creation and media outreach.
- Assist in the development and coordination of a communication strategy and/or policy to identify improved means of communication and effectively engage the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek membership and community.
- Work closely with Gimaa and Council, Directors, and Managers to develop and strengthen community engagement activities.
