Reporting to the Environment Health and Safety Manager, the successful candidate will act to assist with obtaining annual EHS compliance goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
· Assist with the maintenance and operation of the site’s Health and Safety program. To reinforce safety practices and procedures primarily within a manufacturing environment.
· Assist in improving environmental technologies
· Assist with ergonomic assessments and job hazard analysis, working with key stakeholders to develop preventative measures as well as corrective measures.
· Assist in lower impact of environmental impacts of production in auto manufacturing facilities
· Assist with the maintenance of EHS policies and procedures.
· Assist with EHS data collection, analysis and reporting related to workplace incidents.
· Assist with Environmental conservation projects including collection of technical data, analysis, and working with key stakeholders to develop project scopes, cost justification, and drive projects to completion.
· Participate in ISO audit activities.
· Other tasks as assigned.
Experience / Qualifications to build upon
· Minimum of 2 years related work experience within a manufacturing environment.
· Demonstrated commitment to promoting a safe working environment.
· Experience in coordinating projects from start to successful implementation as well as identifying and implementing environmental best practices.
· Working knowledge of ergonomic assessments, job hazard analyses, and Health and Safety risk assessments.
· Working knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
· Working environmental solutions experience
· Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within a team environment.
· Ability to effectively manage conflicting priorities in order to meet deadlines and targets.
· Ability to effectively work independently as well as within a team.
· Ability to establish and foster employee trust.
