Previous event planning experience is an asset
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the Event Manager in event execution
- Follow the Schedule of Events and take initiative in set up and service
- Help delegate a team of servers and bartenders
- Understand the different styles of service and what is required in each
- Support with service execution (buffet, plated, family style etc.)
- Be proactive in anticipating the needs of the client and their guests
- Assist with set-up and breakdown of items required to complete the event successfully
- Contribute to a clean, sanitary and professional work environment
- Supporting with opening or closing an event, ensuring it ends strong
- Report any outstanding incidents in event debrief form
- Cleaning and garbage/compost/recycling removal as required
- Approach all tasks in line with the White Table philosophy, aesthetic and standard of excellence
- Complete any other duties necessary to ensure the success of the operation

Requirements
Valid Serving it Right certification
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on the business’ and event-specific needs
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Phone plan with data needed; for use with workplace apps and communication when teams are split
- A valid Driver’s License is an asset
- Ability to bend, lift, and carry 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and be mobile for an excess of 8 hours
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as schedules, floor plans, and timelines
- At least 1-2 years experience in events and/or catering coordination
