This position will provide support primarily to three areas within athletics and recreation. Under the portfolio of recreation, marketing and engagement and directly reporting to the director of recreation, marketing and engagement, this assistant position will support events, Sponsorship and marketing units to help provide high quality deliverables and experience to the various user groups that are within athletics and recreation.
Experience:
This position requires practical experience in coordination, event management, or marketing support. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various members.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive and respectful working and learning environment.
- Ability to prioritize and manage time and tasks with attention to detail.
- Ability to problem solve by using judgement, independent thinking and/or analysis.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively.

- Experience composing various business communications such as emails, memos and reports.
- Experience in maintaining confidential and sensitive information.
- Experience with pre-planning and recording meetings.
- Experience with event planning and coordination.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new software as needed. (i.e., MS-Office Suite, Adobe Create Suite, content management systems).
Specialized Knowledge/Education:
- Marketing and communication experience considered an asset.
- Previous experience working in athletics and/or recreation environment considered an asset.
