Safety Equipment Instructors / Facilitators
(Independent Contractor - Part-Time – Flexible Hours – Eastern Ontario)

Levac Supply’sHealth and SafetyDivision offers a suite of standard and custom solutions for commercial accounts with a specific focus on Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management, Job Hazard Analysis, First Aid, CPR, Lift Truck, Mobile Elevating Work Platforms, Confined Space Safety and Employee Safety Awareness, just to name a few. As well, our organization delivers Chief Prevention Officer (CPO) approved programs such as Working at Heights and Joint Health and Safety Training.
Due to our exciting growth, these Independent Contractor positions are available immediately and would be ideal for a semi-retired or retired industrial / construction expert who is knowledgeable about the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other relevant provincial regulations. The successful candidates could reside in the Brockville or Kingston area.
Health & Safety Trainer Mandate
The major focus of the trainer / facilitator role is to:
o Deliver engaging and impactful adult learning seminars and instruction;
o Promote and inspire a positive learning environment emphasizing that a Health & Safety culture is critical for employee safety and creating a successful employee-centric organization;
o Complete all trainee exams, practical assessments and knowledge follow-ups which may include submission of such paperwork to the office in a timely manner;
o Leverage industry knowledge and network to support business growth.
Qualifications and Experience
These roles require skills in delivering theory and practical messaging in the workshops for learner understanding and comprehension. _ Levac Health and Safety Division_and our valued clients require a professional with:
o Extensive knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and associated regulations;
o Diploma in a related field i.e. Occupational Health & Safety, Certified Safety Engineer or
Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) would be an asset;
o Superior written and oral communication skills;
o Ability to travel, access to a vehicle and willingness to work a flexible schedule since projects occasionally involve weekend and early morning/evening hours;
o A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $30.00-$50.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
