Reporting to the Health and Safety Training Supervisor, you will be part of the Health and Safety Department. You will perform training facilitation for areas related to Common Core, or skill-based requirements of the workforce for all Macassa operations, with a main focus on the mining department. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

• Provide instruction and guidance to site employees on the proper use of various equipment underground;
• Support mining training curriculum, training schedules and safe operating procedures;
• Provide leadership necessary to ensure that employees and contractors adhere to safety and environmental standards in conjunction with the safety and environmental department;
• Assess qualifications and on the job training of all new employees;
• Perform regular training needs analysis and ensure accurate and comprehensive training records are maintained;
• Liaise with but not limited too: mine staff, safety and human resources staff;
• Ensure employees are adequately assessed and training for their assigned work as well as updating training records;
• Continue to identify new ways to improve training and ways to implement them Promotes OHSA and Company policies and procedures;
• Maintain Integrated Management System (Document Control) consistent with Agnico Eagle standards;
• Suggest and track policy updates, regulations, AND SAFETY standards issued annually by our Company;
• Follow-up on safety related recommendations;
• Comply with and evaluate training statistics;
• Communicate all safety policies and procedures to other departments for consistency and ensure they meet company standards and legislated requirements;
• Assist in investigations any incidents/accidents UG as requested Support quality control of completion of inspections and investigations;
• Be a safety resource as required.

• Train the Trainer is considered an asset;
• Minimum 5 years in the underground production environment;
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants;
• Ddemonstrated leadership skills in influencing, conflict management, training of personnel etc;
• Must be self-motivated and have the ability to motivate others and initiate change that yields positive results in terms of HEALTH AND SAFETY;
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint & EHS software.

Your Work Schedule:

• Schedule: 5/2 or 4/3 schedule at our Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, ON.
