Hotel Front Desk Agent

Job Description

The primary duties of the Hotel Front Desk Agent is to accommodate guests during their stay in an attentive, courteous and friendly manner during the check-in and checkout processes, and during times where information and further assistance is requested.

Important

The contract is seasonal. The contract would run from April through August 2024. All applicants are welcome to apply for the Operations Manager role that would commence in September. This decision is based on performance during the contract.

Job Responsibilities

The Hotel Front Desk Agent's day-to-day duties include but are not limited to:

• Welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner
• Ascertains their lodging, purchasing needs
• Assists guests in a branded, friendly, proactive, and efficient manner with appropriate follow-up as necessary
• Knows all essential aspects of our hotel operations
• Collects payments by accepting cash or charge payments from customers; and makes change for cash customers
• Balances cash drawer by counting cash at beginning and end of work shift
• Monitors lobby and check-in activity to determine room flow
• Responds to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner
• Provides pre-arrival support for guests arriving in groups and individually
• Facilitates correspondence with guests
• Acts as the site liaison for the services and sales center
• Works collaboratively with hotel associates and resources

Requirements and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred
• Ability to stand during entire shift
• Long hours are sometimes required
• Willingness to be flexible with scheduling a bonus
• Outstanding customer service experience required
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs an asset
• Must maintain composure under pressure
• May be required to cover the occasional night audit shift

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 18 weeks

Salary: Up to $17.00 per year

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week

• Monday to Friday
• Morning shift
• Night shift
• Weekends as needed
