Hr Assistant

Tenova Goodfellow Inc. (TGI) is seeking an HR Assistant. This is part or full time, 12-month contract (possible extension). This hybrid position is expected to work minimum 3 days from Mississauga office , and at least once biweekly from our plant in Hamilton.

TGI is part of a global organization that supplies advanced technologies, products, and services to the metal and mining industries. As a world leader in providing advanced process control technologies, TGI focuses on improving energy efficiency in combustion intensive processes by using its proprietary extractive & optical sensor technology developed in co-operation with its strategic partners.

The key responsibilities for the HR Coordinator include:

• Assist HR Manager with ongoing HR projects and initiatives and support on all administrative tasks
• Assist with talent acquisition efforts by sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and coordinating the hiring process.
• Revamp onboarding and new hire orientation
• Responsible for keeping up to date employee information
• Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
• Collaborate in training initiatives, events, recognition ideas, etc.
• Support H&S activities

The successful candidate will also have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, or related field
• Additional HR training or experience is a plus
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required
• Strong knowledge of HR practices, policies, and local employment laws
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism
• Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ethics
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office including Excel, HRIS systems.
