The Payroll - HR Assistant, under the direction of the General Manager/CFO, will primarily be responsible to monitor human resources related documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and relevance to business processes. This position will stay abreast on compliance requirements and industry best practices; recommend changes or modifications to existing policies; and programs to remain in compliance and adopt best practices where feasible. The Payroll - HR Assistant must have experience in payroll processes and demonstrated time management skills, as bi-weekly payroll processing utilizing Ceridian is one of the main functions of the position.
- Manage time clock and prepare bi-weekly payroll, including remittance of withholdings
- Prepare employment documents, and collect relevant paperwork for new hires and returning staff
- Adhere to and enforce all appropriate workplace regulations, compliances, and legislation regarding health and safety, and company policies and procedures
- Confer and cooperate with other departments to coordinate organizational processes such as employee on-boarding
- Maintain confidentiality with all sensitive employee and organizational documents and records
- Monitor human resources related documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and relevance to business processes
- Draft correspondence, policies, reports, proposals, job descriptions, and other employment documentation
- Perform the onboarding of new hires and provide training for all employees
- Maintain human resources information and related records systems in compliance with applicable legislation
- Stay abreast on compliance requirements and industry best practices; recommend changes or modifications to existing policies and programs to remain in compliance; and adopt best practices where feasible
