Job Posting:Human Resource Advisor in Beautiful Northern BC
Our agency is expanding, and we are hiring a Human Resource Advisor to join our management team.
We are looking for an experienced Human Resource Advisor to assist in leading our management team and support our staff and agency. The Human Resource Advisor should have experience working in non-profit agencies and understand family-centered, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed approaches to community services.
This is a part-time permanent position.
Wage: $39.07-$48.25 depending on qualifications and experience.

  • Staff with children ages 0-5 will have priority placement for their child/children in the KCDC Daycare granted/when there is a space available
Responsibilities:
  • Development and upkeep of the center’s operations policies.
  • Coordinating recruitment and maintenance of all job postings
  • Support external recruiting by advertising, interviewing, referencing, and supporting the selection of candidates.
  • Assist in the management of internal posting and placement processes.
  • Manage systems necessary to maintain employee records in the HR information system and Dayforce.
  • Facilitate succession planning for positions and creation of development initiatives.
  • Assist in creating consistent implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Guide employees on application of company policies
  • Apply labour relations knowledge to address issues in the work environment including labour relations matters.
  • Coordinate training for leaders through group presentations and one on one mentoring
  • Represent management on the health and safety committee and sponsor safety and environmental policies.
Qualifications:
  • Formal post-secondary education in Human Resources Management and CPHR designation is preferred.
  • Experience as a HR generalist, preferably in a multi-site public sector unionized environment.
  • Ability to process and support a wide range of issues within a nonprofit environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of legislation affecting employers and employees with experience implementing best practices of Human Resource management.
  • Experience in collective agreement interpretation, labour relations research, OHS, contract management and full-cycle recruitment and selection.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of staff and community contacts.
  • Experience using Human Resource information systems and proficient with MS Office products.
Additional Requirements:
  • Current Class 5 Driver’s License, safe driving record and personal vehicle for work use, preferred
  • A criminal record check clearance letter
