WHAT YOU WILL DO

Reporting to the General Manager, the Human Resources Advisor works closely with business unit leadership to provide professional guidance, support and expertise related to Forsite's people practices.

The HR Advisor handles generalist responsibilities and supports the organization in all areas of Human Resources, including but not limited to:

  • Employee Relations
  • Compensation and Benefits
  • Disability Management
  • Recruitment
  • Training and Development
  • Retention and Engagement
  • Occupational Health and Safety
  • Diversity and Inclusion

Additional key responsibilities include:

  • Develops and implements HR programs, policies, and processes;
  • Works closely with Business Units to understand needs and issues related to employees. Recommends HR programs to support those needs;
  • Leads the full cycle recruitment function from needs analysis to orientation and onboarding;
  • Provides guidance in the interpretation and application of provincial employment related statutes, laws and regulations to ensure Business Units are in compliance with local, provincial and federal regulations;
  • Researches and recommends revisions and updates to existing policies based on people, regulatory, statutory and business needs;
  • Maintains a good working knowledge of legislation (provincial Employment Standards, Personal Information & Protection Act, Workers Compensation Act);
  • Champions the Forsite Diversity and Inclusion initiative;
  • Participates in company's OH&S process including Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings;
  • Conducts internal reviews of compensation, evaluates wages compared to job duties for equity. Researches external industry wages for comparison;
  • Provides guidance and input for business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning; and
  • Works closely with leadership to enhance the developmental review and performance management process.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources, business administration or related field;
  • Minimum three (3) years of proven experience within an HR Generalist role;
  • CPHR designation a strong asset;
  • Experience working in an organization with multiple locations, regions or business units;
  • Strong working knowledge of BC Employment Standards, Personal Information & Protection Act, Workers Compensation Act and Human Rights Act;
  • Experience with Alberta and/or Saskatchewan Employment Standards an asset; and
  • Demonstrated experience with talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations and organizational development.
