Human Resources Co-op Student
Appointment Type: Full-time, Contract (May – August 2024), Hybrid, On site 3 Days / Week
Compensation: $20.00 / Hour
Reports to: Director, Human Resources and Equity

Key Responsibilities:
- Support end-to-end recruitment, including but not limited to drafting job postings, posting on careers website and job boards, screening applications, drafting interview guides, conducting pre-employment checks, preparing offer of employment letters, and administering onboarding process.
- Monitor and track probation dates and temporary contract end dates by generating reports in the HRIS and performing analysis of the data.
- Monitor and track completion of AODA and Health and Safety training by generating bi-weekly reports, conducting follow up with staff and their managers, as needed.
- Responsible for monitoring and responding to the HR inbox, triaging as appropriate to the HR team.
- Participate on various HR project teams and committees, including but not limited to:
- Annual Performance Management Program: prepare compensation reports, conduct preliminary analysis of salary information and prepare compensation letters for employees.
- Employment Policies: assist with research and roll out of updated employment policies and guides.
- Job Description Project: update job description library to ensure all jobs have updated description on file.
- Heath and Safety: coordinate committee meetings, including preparation and distribution of meeting materials, inspections, training and updating forms.
- Application Tracking System (ATS): support continued implementation of ATS and Onboarding modules in the HRIS.
Educational and Experience requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a post-graduate program in Human Resources Management or related field.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Previous experience or working knowledge of HRIS (i.e. ADP Workforce Now), an asset.
- Strong analytical skills, advanced Excel skills with the ability to use advanced functions, preferred.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with HR team members and other stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to write clear recommendations, procedures, and reports.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Detail-oriented with strong client service orientation with a solutions-oriented mind-set when addressing challenges.
