The Human Resources Student supports the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department across both Alexandra Hospital Ingersoll and Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital. The Human Resources Student is responsible for assisting with various Human Resources tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Print employee identification badges.
- Complete various letters including confirmation of employment, transfers, etc.
- Filing of confidential paperwork and maintaining filing system
- Reviewing and editing Human Resources policies
- Participate in the external recruitment process.
- Review applications in Prevue APS for open recruitment.
- Assist in organizing and setting up job interviews.
- Processing reference checks
- Assisting team on special projects
- Create employee files and records and document management.
- Assist with pulling HR data and completing reports as needed.
- Assist in other duties as agreed in order to contribute to the effective implementation/maintenance of human resource related activities.
- Performs duties in a manner that exemplifies and facilitates both quality and patient safety.
- Follow Hospital policies and procedures and those applicable to assigned duties.
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality.
- Contribute to positive work life and physical environment.
- Carry out duties in a way that embodies the mission, vision and values of providing a patient and family-centred experience and high-quality care; and
- Work cooperatively with fellow employees and management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent as acceptable to the Hospital
- Enrolled in and actively pursuing a Human Resources diploma or degree program or equivalent as acceptable to the Hospital.
- Previous administrative experience in an office setting is an asset.
- Able to handle confidential information with tact and diplomacy.
- Excellent computer skills are essential specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Intranet, Outlook.
- Able to work independently in a demanding environment and be able to prioritize workload.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization and provide superior customer service.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a positive contributor to the team.
- Self-motivated with demonstrated problem-solving skills.

Must be available to work all shifts as required, which may include; weekends, statutory holidays, days, evenings and night shifts. Hours are subject to change based on operation needs of the hospital.
