DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources Department as delegated, including processing of mail, filing, word processing, faxing, photocopying, data entry and minute-taking, distribution, and support for related Human Resources projects
- Assist in maintaining records management and digital information systems.
- Provide customer service in person, through email and the telephone to internal and external clients.
- Perform internal audits related to job, demographic, payroll and benefits information.
- Collect information and prepare required reports.
- Coordinate the booking of appointments.
- Comply with provincial and county occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a registered full-time post-secondary student during the preceding academic year and be returning to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year, or be completing placement as part of the completion of a post-graduate program.
- Must have completed a criminal reference check from within the last 6 months.
- Valid Driver’s License with access to a vehicle.
- Enrollment in a Business Administration Program preferably Human Resources Management.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office software programs is required.
- Excellent writing, communication and organizational skills are a must.
- Professional with the ability to maintain confidentiality while working within a non-union/unionized environment.
- Previous office experience would be considered an asset.
