Student Human Resources Assistant

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources Department as delegated, including processing of mail, filing, word processing, faxing, photocopying, data entry and minute-taking, distribution, and support for related Human Resources projects

• Assist in maintaining records management and digital information systems.

• Provide customer service in person, through email and the telephone to internal and external clients.

• Perform internal audits related to job, demographic, payroll and benefits information.

• Collect information and prepare required reports.

• Coordinate the booking of appointments.

• Comply with provincial and county occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.

• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Must be a registered full-time post-secondary student during the preceding academic year and be returning to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year, or be completing placement as part of the completion of a post-graduate program.

• Must have completed a criminal reference check from within the last 6 months.

• Valid Driver’s License with access to a vehicle.

• Enrollment in a Business Administration Program preferably Human Resources Management.

• Experience working with Microsoft Office software programs is required.

• Excellent writing, communication and organizational skills are a must.

• Professional with the ability to maintain confidentiality while working within a non-union/unionized environment.

• Previous office experience would be considered an asset.
