The Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc is currently accepting applications for one (1) 4- to 8-month “Human Resources Student.”
Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision and mentorship of the Human Resources Generalist, the Human Resources Student will have the opportunity to assist the HR Team with various aspects of Human Resources as well as receive hands-on experience with various HR functions and practices.

As a member of the Municipal team, each employee is responsible for serving the citizens of Strathroy-Caradoc by meeting the ratepayers’ needs and expectations, as articulated by Council, by striving to be the best in everything we do through attitude, training and creativity, and for representing the Municipality as a strong, integrated organization dedicated to quality, sustainable and viable services.
Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a post-secondary Human Resources or related program
• Understand and have some knowledge of all relevant legislation and regulations (i.e. Employment Standards, OHSA, Labour Relations, Human Rights etc.)
• Previous experience in Human Resources an asset
• Must be competent within the meaning of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Minimum valid class “G2” Ontario Driver’s Licence or equivalent with a satisfactory driver’s abstract
• Ability to manage own time effectively along with the ability to organize multiple priorities
• Computer literacy utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and virtual meeting platforms
• Excellent customer service, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check prior to starting employment

Compensation:
Wage: Band 1 – $16.83 - $21.04 per hour (2024 rates)
Benefits: Voluntary enrolment in the OMERS Pension Plan
