Human Resources Coordinator

G.B. Catering is looking to hire someone to run the Human Resources department for our busy summer season and some shoulder season work as well (spring-fall). We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, a self-starter, works well under pressure and is not afraid of a challenge.

G.B. Catering provides contracted food services to children’s camps across Ontario. Our head office (where this position will work out of) is located in Huntsville, ON. For our summer season, we hire 100+ people (mainly students) to live and work on-site at our camps and prepare the food for the children & staff at camp. We are looking for someone to lead the hiring process of our student staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clerical and administrative support to the management department as delegated; including answering of phones, filing, word processing, faxing and photocopying
• Lead the hiring process including maintaining & updating job ads, booking & conducting interviews, reference checks, job offer correspondence and data entry
• Bi-weekly payroll
• Maintain and update staff records
• Staff and/or goods transportation as needed (use of company vehicle)
• Maintain confidentiality in regards to staff information
• Assist in tripping food preparation as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Valid Driver’s License required
• A minimum of two COVID-19 vaccinations is required
• Enrollment or completion of a post secondary program, preferably, Human Resources Management, an asset
• Experience working with Mac OS an asset, including Mac Word & Excel
• Administrative/Secretarial experience an asset
• Strong written and oral communication skills are a must
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are a must

Position Details:

• Anticipated length: Late March/Early April - Mid September
• Salary: $21-$25/hr

Based on a 5-day work week. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
