Specific Duties:
- Perform various administrative duties essential to the operation of the Human Resources department
- Provide recruitment support including creating job postings and scheduling of interviews for hiring managers.
- Assist with reference and background checks
- Maintains employee records and in accordance with Canadian Provincial and Federal employment laws.
- Maintain mandatory training records for Safety, HR and ELS.
- Manage corporate training schedules and records.
- Responsible for coordinating corporate signage and required postings in a professional and consistent means in keeping with corporate branding throughout the Canadian market.
- Participate in job fairs, in-person or virtual.
- Administer Employee Service Awards, Anniversary and Birthday communications, and Gravity Defyer program.
- Provide support for various corporate meetings and functions; schedule and prepare meeting space, work with organizer on supplies and other items needed
- Responsible for planning, arranging and overseeing calendars, which includes scheduling of meetings, events, some travel arrangements, etc.
- Respond to and route employee questions and concerns
- Contribute to and maintain accurate HRIS data
- Generate and prepare identified HR reports as required
- Prepare new hire orientation packets.
- Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
- Other projects and duties as needed.
- Associates Degree or equivalent coursework required; Bachelor’s degree in related discipline preferred
- Basic understanding of human resource functions, reporting and record keeping requirements
- Member in good standing, Canadian Human Resources Practitioners Association, CHRP/CHRL designation in progress or completed..
- Knowledge of principles and practices of HR functions, reporting and record keeping requirements and general administration
- Strong communications skills, communicates up, down and throughout ELS encouraging candour and clarity, both verbal and written
- HRIS database and HR metrics experience, research, develop and monitor
- Current knowledge of governmental (Provincial, Federal and Municipal) regulations regarding employment.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications essential (Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills)
- Proactive, self-starter, with initiative and ability to operate with minimal supervision.

- Demonstrates previous experience building exceptional relationships utilizing communication, listening and negotiation techniques

- Works in office environment in manufacturing facility with flexibility for travel to off-site meetings and between three manufacturing plant locations.
- Usually works a standard forty (40) hour work week.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs., walking and stairs.
- May be required to work some overtime hours to attend meetings or meet organizational needs
- May experience tight deadlines and stressful conditions at times.
- May deal with conflict and member relations issues causing stress at times.
- Must be able to manage frequent interruptions and multiple tasks daily.
- Sitting, working at desk/personal computer for extended periods of time.
