Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Estate Planning/Administration Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively. We have an office in Stettler and Lacombe. The candidate would be expected to work primarily in office at one or both locations.
Duties:
- Assist with legal research, drafting, and proofreading of legal documents (specifically, wills, powers of attorney, personal directives, and probate applications)
- Maintain both paper and digital documents and files
- Schedule meetings
- Manage calendars and deadlines
- Coordinate communication between clients and staff
- Perform general clerical duties, such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and photocopying documents
Requirements:
- Proven experience working as a Legal Assistant in an Estate Planning and Estate Administration role
- Proficient in legal drafting and proofreading
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in using Microsoft Word
- Familiarity with Cosmolex, OneDrive and Outlook preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Exceptional phone etiquette and customer service skills
