Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance and repair of our facilities. This is a hands-on role that requires mechanical knowledge, customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaks, and repairing equipment
- Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and other facility systems
- Follow maintenance schedules and ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritize and address maintenance requests
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Fabricate or repair parts using hand tools or welding equipment as needed
- Supervise contractors or vendors when they are on-site for repairs or installations
- Assist with maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment
Experience:
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance or a related field is preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to read schematics
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and external contractors
- Experience with CMMS software is a plus
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Leadership skills and the ability to supervise others when necessary
- Basic electrical knowledge is required
