Maintenance Technician

Description
As a Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for maintaining the equipment in the facility on the production floor, warehouse, and the office area.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment and machinery
- Has the experience, expertise, strong knowledge, and strong hands-on skills in maintenance.
- Capable of troubleshooting and making repairs in all areas of maintenance, including electrical motors/controls, mechanical devices, welding, plumbing, pipe fitting, and other task as may be assigned, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Capable of leading projects.
- Capable of installing new equipment.
- Analyze equipment performance and make recommendations for improvements
- Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.
- Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling, as necessary.
- Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
- Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
- Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
- Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
- Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
- Makes necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with Supervisor regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
Requirements:
- Understands electrical diagrams, familiar with low voltage (24VDC) and high voltage (480VAC) electrical systems.
- Effective communication, observation, planning, writing, reading, basic math, problem solving and prioritizing skills.
- Proficient computer skills to receive/close work orders, view/search different folders for manual, notes and/or documents.
- Demonstrated good housekeeping practices and 5S principles.
- Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.
- Works well independently and with others.
- Good communication skills.
- Team Oriented
- Has continuing and consistent safe work habits.
- Has good attendance.
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
- Requires no supervision.
- May train any level of Maintenance Mechanics or less experienced Maintenance Technicians.
Education and Experience:
- 2 – 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with a track record of improvements.
- 5+ years’ experience in a maintenance environment with a track record of improvements.
- Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
- Must be able to visually inspect machines.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
