Medical Office Assistant

Job Overview:
I am seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join my team. Fluency in English, Mandarin and Cantonese is a requirement. As a Medical Office Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of my medical practice. Your primary responsibilities will include administrative tasks, patient scheduling, day-to-day tasks to ensure my practice runs smoothy.

Work is all done remotely from home, but the successful applicant needs to be located in Lower Mainland to meet with my team as needed at most once a month. An office phone and laptop will be provided. Hours can be flexible day-to-day, but have to be between 9am and 8pm.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

- Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Handle telephone and electronic enquiries

- Maintain patient records and update information as needed
- Facilitate communication between patients, healthcare professionals, and external providers
- Prepare patient charts by gathering patient data and history under the direction of the physician
- Collaborate with other members of the practice to provide excellent patient care

Requirements:
- Fluency in English, Mandarin and Cantonese

- Secure personal internet service at home

- Confidential and private work environment at home

- Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role, preferably in a specialist practice

- Proficiency in using EMR systems, preferably the Accuro EMR
- Proficiency in medical terminology
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills,
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

- Excellent customer service skills

- Adherence to all clinic policies and procedures, as well as privacy and confidentiality rules as per the Health Information Protection Act.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $28.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
