Position: Medical Receptionist/Administrator at Radiance Plastic Surgery (Part-Time)

We are looking to hire an experienced Medical Receptionist/Administrator for our busy plastic and reconstructive surgery office in Canmore, Alberta. The successful candidate will be able to function in a fast-paced environment, have excellent communication skills, be able to multi-task, and be reliable. Hours are between Monday to Friday, 8:30 - 4:30 p.m. Pay will be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities (job functions include, but are not limited to):
- Patient reception and telephone handling; identify and prioritize concerns
- Manage appointment bookings and maintain physician schedule
- Receive and schedule referrals
- Schedule and confirm appointments
- Follow up with patients after appointments or surgeries
- Build positive relationships with patients by discussing procedures, products and financing options
- Process medical records; entering patient information into EMR/scanning files to EMR
- Distribute messages, faxes and results to the appropriate patient charts
- Prepare/maintain health records and other documentation related to the patient visit
- Prepare treatment areas and maintain cleanliness of the clinic
- Provide a variety of clerical support duties such as respond to email, filing, sorting and distributing mail, faxes and courier packages
- Maintain patient and business confidentiality at all times as per privacy legislation
- Maintain medical and office supply inventory for the clinic
- Complete medical and insurance forms
- Train and be able to perform all functions of surgical booking to assist with overflow and fully function as back-up for the Senior MOA to cover for training and vacation
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma, Technical School or University education;
* Graduate of a recognized Medical Office Assistant program (preferred);
* Experience with, or training on, Electronic Medical Records (QHR Accuro an asset);
* At least 2 years experience in a medical clinic, work experience with the Alberta Health Region or equivalent senior administrative or high volume customer service experience (hospitality, spa or other related field);

* Must adapt quickly to new concepts as the health care system is always changing
* Electronic Medical Record experience; strong appointment and data entry skills (min. typing speed 55 wpm)
* Computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and experience working with Apple computers, tablets, etc.
