Position:Operations Manager – Edmonton
Location: TNT Crane & Rigging Canada Inc. – Edmonton
TNT Crane & Rigging Canada Inc. is now looking to hire an Operations Manager to join our growing Edmonton team.
Summary: You will be reporting to Edmonton Branch Manager. The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient scheduling of the Company fleet. He/she will be accountable to manage a communication network to relay work orders, messages, and information to or from work crews, supervisors, and operators. Other responsibilities also consist of working with dispatch to assign operators to equipment. The role includes providing support in a fast paced, high call volume office environment and will assist in completing operational and data entry tasks as necessary in a timely and accurate manner.

Responsibilities:
- Manages the overall operations of the Dispatch Center and dispatch communication processes, procedures and operations staff
- Advanced computer skills - Outlook, Excel, Word and proficiency with Fleet Cost & Care
- Responsible to manage after hours calls and delegate this responsibility when required
- Maintain and execute the daily dispatch plan to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness
- Maintain scheduling for the Operators time off, vacations, unexpected absence
- Continually monitor workloads throughout the department and actively pursue additional resource when justified
- Provide customer with rate and crane sizing quotes over the phone
- Gather travel permits for Cranes in Alberta, B.C, and Saskatchewan including city street closures
- Work closely with Operators and Riggers daily
- Work closely with Branch Manager & Operations team to coordinate R&M and maintain
FCC records
- Work closely with administration on invoicing and A/R
- Create initiatives and procedures that maximize organizational ability to service clients with the most efficiency possible
- Maintain accurate up to date information of the equipment permits, certifications & inspections
- Be informed of, adhere to, and enforce corporate and departmental policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as required
- Occasional business travel may be required
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the crane business in a supervisory or operations role
- Industry related programs (3d lift plan, Liccon)
- Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to do material and labor estimates as well as any necessary site visits
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (excel, word, outlook, etc.)
- Current industry standard training certificates considered an asset (First Aid, H2S Alive,
CSTS, etc.)
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license
