JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties:
- Responds to inquiries from Field Service Reps and Dispatcher/Schedulers regarding their meter-
maintaining records of problems; and liaising with equipment suppliers and technical support staff
to initiate corrective action.
- Maintains security access for software users, ensures users implement software and security
equipment is in working order before returning it to the field. Maintains inventories of field
equipment such as handheld tablets. Creates and assigns read lists to contractors and oversees
the processing of returned meter data.
- Runs a variety of standard reports, such as Consecutive Can’t Read Reports, Zero Consumption
system/meter reading effectiveness.
- Ensures processing routines such as force-complete reports run efficiently for billing purposes,
as location changes and device locations accurately reflect site information.
- Develops Hydro’s yearly meter reading and billing schedules in keeping with established
new routes. Updates and maintains route structures by processing account moves and updates
records to reflect boundary extensions and other property details.
- Participates with IT specialists in the development, implementation and testing of new meter
upgrading to new products or technologies.
- Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties that do not affect the rating of the
- Knowledge, skills and abilities are typically acquired through completion of a Computer System
equivalent; plus a minimum of one (1) year of experience in computer systems administration,
computer file and data management and file transfer protocols, preferably with meter reading and/
or billing systems.
- Satisfactory performance in this job will take approximately 12 months in order to acquire the

Flexible work model role definitions
===========================
Our four role types identify the degree of flexibility an employee could have to work from home
based on the type of work they do. The flexibility for an individual job is up to the manager for
each position and the operational requirements. Employees also have the right to work full-time
from the office if they prefer. All of our roles require at least some in-person time.
IBEW/Field – No option to work from home
Resident – Works primarily (4+ days per week) in the office.
Hybrid – May be able to work from home up to 3 days per week.
Remote – Works from home 4+ days per week
