Position Summary:
The Night Auditor is a key member of the Front Office team, responsible for the overnight of the hotel to ensure a smooth operation during the hours of 11pm-7am. The Night Auditor’s responsibility is; processing of arrivals and departures, verifying the accuracy of guest accounts, balancing charges and revenues, as well as assisting with all aspects of guest services. It is your responsibility for registering the day’s transactions and correcting all errors. The Night Auditor is responsible for all emergency situations during their work shift. In addition the Night Auditor takes care of all Guest Service Agent responsibilities occurring during the night shift.
Reporting To:
The Front Office Manager or, in their absence, under the supervision of the Operations Manager &/or Hotel Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide an exceptional level of service to our guests
- Reservation support which includes, entering of reservations, confirmation of extranets, and processing telephone and walk-in reservations
- Respond to guest comments, requests and emergencies
- Execute accounting tasks related to night audit
- Reconcile accounts
- Posting room charges
- Balance cash drawer and log receipts
- Investigate and resolve out-of-balance accounts
- Keep accurate financial records and ledgers
- Prepare night audit reports and forward to Management
- Produce a variety of reports for other departments. Ensure reports are effective, timely and accurate.
- Ensure on-site security of property and guests overnight
- Make important decisions in case of emergency
- Report follow-up to the team members on the next morning shift including special guest requests that were not completed overnight
- Be discreet and respect confidentiality in regards to guests
- Show enthusiasm while executing any other needed task
- Complete security checks and do routine hourly inspections to ensure hotel is safe and secure for all guests
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Front Office Manager

- Ability to work unsupervised and make quick sound decisions when required.
Qualifications:
- College degree in Hospitality Management, accounting or relevant field
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with hotel Property Management Software
- Proven experience as a Night Auditor or in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Able to manage unpredictable situations showing creativity and professionalism
- Excellent customer service: approachable, pleasant, courteous, empathetic, fast acting
- Enjoy and is able to work in a team environment as well as independently
