Overview:
Pembina’s Oil Sands & Heavy Oil Business Unit is currently seeking a Pipeline Field Operator to join their team.  This position is located in the Sherwood Park area of Alberta. 
Pembina is one of Canada's largest oil sands and heavy oil pipeline operators and the business unit operates one of the largest merchant terminal businesses in western Canada. These combined assets allow us to provide long-term, dedicated transportation services to our customers.
As a Pipeline Field Operator, you will perform a variety of pipeline operational and maintenance duties.  
 
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
-Complete assignments safely, efficiently and in an environmentally conscious manner by observing company and industry safety practices;
-Be responsible for maintaining daily pipeline operations including measurement concepts, product quality, facility inspections, pipeline integrity and pigging activities;
-Respond to Alberta One-Calls, pipeline crossings and land concerns;
-Monitoring and maintaining Athabasca District pipeline right of ways;
-Perform and assist with pipeline maintenance activities;
-Respond to pipeline system upsets, determine cause and resolve;
-Liaise with public and other related industry companies;
-Maintain pump stations, block valve sites and vehicle in clean orderly condition;
-Supervise contractors, oversee routine and non-routine maintenance activities;
-Occasionally expected to work out of town on project work and adapt to schedule changes easily;
-Must be willing to commit to an on-call rotation;

Qualifications:
-A High School Diploma or equivalent;
-5+ years of related experience (pipeline, gas plant, refinery, or production);
-Experience in ground disturbance and underground facility locating would be considered an asset;
-Ability to read and interpret pipeline related construction drawings, schematics and alignment drawings;
-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications;
-Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
-A teamwork attitude, who has strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail; 
-Flexible and adaptable to change;
-A valid Class 5 Driver’s License; and
-Knowledge of SAP and a mechanical aptitude would be an asset.
 
 
This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing.  You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.
The successful candidate must reside within 100 km of Sherwood Park, Alberta
 
The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
