We are currently looking for an energetic, hard-working Production Technician to work full-time permanent in our Mixing department on our Afternoon shift (Monday to Friday 15:00-23:00) at our Allistonfacility. What You'll Be Doing
The Production Technician in Mixing is responsible for mixing batches of intravenous solution along with performing set-up, adjustments and troubleshooting equipment to produce a quality product in a safe and efficient manner. Making solution filters, and connecting pumps and filters to the proper filling line, along with cleaning tanks, pipework and all other equipment used in the department. They are also responsible for weighing out chemicals, sanitize and set up equipment to ensure materials and parts flow smoothly in the process.
Duties performed on a daily basis:
Provide oversight to the Solution Transmission System (STS) through actively troubleshooting equipment and system issues across all 3 shifts.
Perform PM’s, generate work orders and CWR’s as requested.
Observe overall mixing operation to ensure machines are functioning according to specifications and make all necessary adjustments.
Requisition chemicals using JDE. Verify that correct chemicals and quantities issued, verify and document weighs through EBR or router.
Perform tank calibrations.
Perform complete changeovers when required.
Prepare tanks for mixing by disposing of remaining solution according to environmental specifications.
Rinsing with distilled water and then filling tanks with distilled water to a prescribed volume.
Flush lines not in use.
Clean and sanitize facility, tanks and equipment per SOP.
Add chemicals to the mixing tank and verify the chemical types and quantities added on the batch mixing report and make necessary corrections.
Perform the required BMTS entries as required. Take samples to mix chemist.
Remove emptied bags from area, build necessary filters.
Control temperature in the mixing tanks by valve adjustments.
Perform cleaning to maintain the department according to GMP.
Support EMS implementation which includes maintaining the department in 6S condition, tracking production, identifying root cause and counter measures and participating in the IDEAS program.
Complete basic Preventative Maintenance on equipment and active participation in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) teams and improvements.
Duties performed on a continual or intermittent basis:
Learn, understand and apply thorough quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur
Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles

Must have the ability to comprehend Baxter Specifications / SOP’s and determine appropriate corrective actions.
Ability to work flexible hours outside of core shift, overtime
Ability to enter tanks for inspection and cleaning. (Confined Space entry)
Ability to work in noisy and warm, wet conditions; also heavy lifting involved.
