Program Coordinator
The Lethbridge Food Bank is a not-for-profit organization established in 1982 to serve the needs of the community in Lethbridge and the surrounding areas. The LFB team works in cohesion to not only provide the fundamental need of food security but to help our clients grow and self-sustain.
The Lethbridge Food Bank is seeking to fill a part-time position to assist with facilitating our expanding "Mindful Munchies", school lunch program. The Program Coordinator is an important member of the Lethbridge Food Bank. This role is responsible for assisting in the preparation and packing of lunches for students and other designated groups. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing healthy and nutritious meals. This position reports directly to the Kitchen Program Lead.
Some Responsibilities include:
- Assist in the facilitation of the lunch program and all related activities
- Clean and sanitize the kitchen areas before, during, and after lunch preparation
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of the food preparation areas
- Assist in the inventory management of food and kitchen supplies
- Assist in stock rotation and food expiry management
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Coordinator
- Planning and facilitation of volunteer duties
Specific skills and qualifications: (LFB will help attain any qualifications if hired)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Food Safety Certificate (can be completed upon hire)
- Previous experience in a food service setting preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly
- Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to lift up to 30-60 pounds
- Clean driver abstract and access to a reliable vehicle
Please note this post will typically be required between September and June to support the academic year only.
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Salary: From $19.50 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
