Part Time Contract Opportunity with the Ontario Kinesiology Association
The Ontario Kinesiology Association (OKA) is seeking an individual to serve as a part-time Project Coordinator to help continue to grow and develop the Kinesiology Evidence & Engagement Network (KEEN) as well as work with the association and various stakeholders on Association related projects and development opportunities.
This 8-month part-time contract position (with the opportunity to extend) will begin on May 1st, 2024, however the start date is negotiable for the preferred candidate.

JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent is responsible for coordinating and supporting ongoing and new projects related to the development of the Kinesiology Evidence & Engagement Network (KEEN) & The OKA’s Membership Understanding Initiative. Over the next year, the role will include projects surrounding understanding the OKA membership which will include developing and implementing membership surveys and engagement material along with a consulting group and student interns, and preparing and presenting this data to the board of directors. Additionally the job will support ongoing KEEN work and initiatives.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules and work hours.
- Coordinating and managing the activities of co-op, internship, consultants, and placement students who are supporting specific project objectives.
- Developing project strategies.
- Assessing project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.
- Determining project changes.
- Ensuring project deadlines are met.
- Undertaking project tasks as required.
- Ensuring projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
- Organizing, attending and participating in stakeholder meetings, focus groups, and interviews.
- Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings.
- Preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings.
- Providing administrative support as needed.
- Creating and managing a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective.
- Organizing, analyzing and presenting project related data and outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or related field.
- Three years’ experience (preferred) practicing in Kinesiology, or within a health research-related role.
- Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of file /data management and other administrative procedures.
- Ability to work on tight deadlines.
- Registered Kinesiologist (R.Kin) designation preferred.
- Quality Improvement experience (preferred)
- Comfort with data manipulation and presentation
TIME COMMITMENT/REMUNERATION
- It is anticipated that the successful candidate will spend on average the equivalent of three-days per week in this role (subject to variation depending on the various stages of the project).
- The contract rate will be approximately $30.00-35.00 per hour depending on candidate qualifications.
