General Accountability
Key Job Functions
- .Works with the TTC client department/project team to understand business requirements, determine efficient/optimal space location and utilization
- Determines optimal space and location, works with others (e.g. Development Coordinators within section, HR, Communication, Change Management, Information Management and IT) to secure space/location in conjunction with section leadership, client department, and other parties as necessary for Modern TO
- Ensures that the client’s needs and requirements are addressed in conjunction with the project team and confirms project concept and scope of work
- Works with the client group to modify existing space requirements to be accommodated as part of the consolidation process
- Informs ModernTO process of the spatial requirements of each group including storage, equipment, adjacencies and ensure fulfillment of the requirements
- Prepares scope definition sign-off documentation and manages sign-off processes with user groups and other related departments, including review and coordination of responses and/or corrective actions required arising from comments, to the satisfaction of all required stakeholders
- Coordinates and monitors the design process from the preliminary design phase through the detailed design phase, including procurement
- Coordinates in-house and consultant design assignments and monitors performance against established Terms of Reference (ToR)/Scope of Work (SOW)
- Assists in the relocation process as required
- Assists in addressing all residual landlord matters in TTC after relocation, including disposal of surplus furniture and equipment as required

Skills
Education and Experience
- Completion of a college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (i.e. Architecture, Engineering, Planning, Property/Real Estate), combined with extensive experience in the fields of real estate, construction, project management, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent
- Architect, Professional Engineer, Registered Professional Planner, and Project Management Professional licenses/certifications are assets
Additional Requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of current construction/renovation/interior design principles and practices, as related to office and industrial space construction/renovations/modifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of property, permits and approvals, including options for the use/disposition of properties, leasing, etc
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Building Code, contract administration, construction inspection, and knowledge of the Construction Act
- Comprehensive knowledge of corporate space management and project management principles and practices, including conceptual planning and all phases of design
- Familiarity with project management information systems and reporting, as it relates to control of scope, scheduling, and cost
- Sound judgement, highly developed organizational, time management, interpersonal, oral and written communication, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with multi-disciplined teams, deal with complex issues, and maintain effective working relationships
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, influence and obtain cooperation from a diverse group of internal and external project stakeholders to achieve the goals and objectives of the project
- Proficiency in the use of computer software applications related to the work (Microsoft Office and Excel)
- Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders, including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees
