QA Analyst Wanted: Dive into the World of Slugterra: Slug it Out 2!
The Opportunity
At Nightmarket Games (formerly Epic Story Interactive), we are seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst for a 3-month contract to join the team and test the newest features of Slugterra: Slug It Out 2!
We're actively seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to take on the pivotal role of Quality Assurance Analyst. In this position, you'll be responsible for meticulously testing game features and content to ensure they meet our high-quality standards. You'll communicate any defects clearly and effectively to our development team, providing detailed reports with steps for reproduction and supporting content. As an integral part of our development team, you'll collaborate closely with the Product Owner and the Software Engineer, participating in internal meetings and external meetings with our 3rd party teams. Your role will also involve executing test plans for new content and Release Candidate testing autonomously, while gathering performance metrics and escalating major issues promptly. The Role
- $10,000 - $12,500 CAD total for a 3-month contract
- 3-month contract
- 40 hours per week, flexible hours around core hours of 10 AM to 4 PM Pacific time
- Fully remote
- Parent-friendly schedule
- Start date - ASAP.
Responsibilities and duties:
Clearly communicate game defects to the development team
- Test game features and content to ensure everything is working as designed.
- Follow established test plans and processes to discover bugs, exploits, and crashes.
- Write detailed reports that explain the defects, how to reproduce them, and include content that demonstrate the defects.
Become embedded as a member of the development team.
- Communicate directly with developers to understand what needs to be tested for new content and features.
- Understand how bug fixes were implemented and how to verify bugs are resolved.
- Be present and participate in all scrums, sprint reviews, and sprint plannings.
Pass or fail test cases and test plans.
- Can run through test plans for new content and Release Candidate testing with minimal oversight.
- Gather performance metrics and enter valid data.
- Escalate major issues to the rest of the development team.
Support the marketing team.
- Provide video and screenshots of the game to the marketing team.
The Candidate
- Individuals with the following traits, skills and experiences should apply:
- Computer literacy with Windows
- Previous testing experience on one shipped or live project
- Critical thinking abilities
- A strong attention to detail
- Knowledge and experience with a wide variety of game genres and platforms
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of common game mechanics, functionality and terminology
- Problem solving ability

- 30-minute phone screen interview with a member of our team.
- 1 to 2 virtual 60-minute interviews with members of our team.
- Virtual 60-minute values and fit interview with a co-founder.
- Reference checks.
- A decision is communicated, and an offer is extended.
