Summary of Position
Responsible for assisting the guests with their waterfront needs while maintaining exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
Education
Essential:
1. Pursuing a High School Diploma or Vocational equivalent.
2. Ability to communicate and comprehend both orally and written in English with employees and customers.
Desirable:
1. Hospitality & Tourism or Recreation related diploma and/or certificate.
Knowledge
Essential:
1. A minimum of 1-year customer service experience.
2. Working knowledge of the use of sports equipment.
3. Working knowledge of operating motorboats.
Desirable:
1. Previous hotel or resort experience.
Special Requirements:
1. Must be able to lift up to a maximum of 80lbs. i.e. motor on and off an aluminum boat etc.
Skills & Abilities
Essential:
1. Excellent customer service skills in order to maintain an exceptional rapport with customers and employees.
2. Ability to operate water sports equipment, motorboats and gators.
3. Ability to work cooperatively with employees and managers as part of a team.
4. Knowledge of minor equipment repair, ie: fixing bicycles
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with company and departmental policies and procedures i.e. grooming standards.
2. Maintain client and company confidence by keeping information confidential.
3. Assist in setting up and organizing department work area with designated supplies and equipment including; set up and take down of the waterfront displays with the appropriate equipment.
4. Maintain a clean waterfront area with the use of rakes and gloves to pick up garbage, as per the departmental schedule.
5. Ensure cleanliness of all sports equipment and waterfront sports equipment on a daily basis as per company policies and procedures.
6. Set up and pull in all boats on a daily basis, including kayaks, canoes and sailboats.
7. Assist all guests with their rentals and customer inquires regarding the recreation equipment.
8. Maintain all rental equipment i.e. boats, bikes, and water sports equipment and notify the director when a replacement is required.
9. Repair rental equipment with the use of tools when required. i.e. bikes and tires.
10. Ensure the safety of the guests at all times i.e. children should not be alone on the docks etc.
11. Coordinate and facilitate the program activity for guests on a weekly basis i.e treasure hunt.
12. Report and record all incidents of injury or accidents, misuse of equipment, destruction of company property to the Director immediately.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $16.50-$16.55 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
