Senior Business Analyst, Financial Systems
Role Type: PERM
Work Location: Hybrid - Proposed Candidates must live in Greater Vancouver, BC
Salary Range: $84,250 - $99,117
Benefits: 3 week's of vacation, and health care benefits starting on Day 1 of employment. FNHA also offers MPP after 3 months for FT PERM employees.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Analyst Applications provides a full working level of specialized expertise, working directly with the FNHA Business areas to analyze business needs, document requirements and translate findings into system requirement specifications, leveraging the functionality available within the PeopleSoft, Finance, Hyperion, SharePoint, and other applications to meet the needs of the business. The Business Analyst automates tasks using SQL, PeopleTools, nVision , Studio Reports, BI Publishing, PS Query, SQL and various other reporting tools. This role designs and delivers training to the user community on system functionality.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works collaboratively with FNHA business areas, application, technology teams and external partners/vendors to support in implementing key strategies and organizational priorities.
  • Leads all application business analysis activities to understand, analyze and document the business requirements and translate into functional requirements and/or process workflows.
  • Collaborates with Business teams to elicit and captures requirements (functional and non-functional) through the use of Business Requirements Document (BRD) process.
  • Leads complex workflow analysis design sessions and documents outputs according to industry standards and best practices.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for system upgrades and implementations for PeopleSoft, Hyperion and other financial applications.
  • Performs modifications to PeopleSoft and other application system configurations to align with changing business requirements.
  • Creates business models, process models, data models and workflow models documents to further clarify requirements.
  • Develops, defines, and builds application based business cases, briefing notes, decision sheets that will enable business and technology change.
  • Creates Service Level Agreements, Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Creates use cases, test plans work with business areas to create user acceptance test scripts.
  • Creates functional specifications, conversions, upgrades, interfaces, reports, forms, and workflows.
  • Ensures
  • requirements for changes and enhancements are properly defined, have proper approvals and follow appropriate channels for testing and migration.
  • Creates end-to-end documentation of end-to-end current state and future state application solutions and associated workflows.
  • Participates in the development of (RFX) and contracts.
  • Contributes to Privacy and Security reviews and assessments.
  • Leverages business and technical knowledge to make recommendations, influence business partners and management.
  • Provides routine systems and end user support related to applications supported by the Financial Systems & Training team.
  • Works with IMIT technical resources to perform requirements / Tool fit gap analysis.
  • Performs requirements tracking through development of the traceability matrix as part of the project lifecycle.
  • Works with the Business areas to resolve issues as it relates to the solution under development.
  • Participates in systems upgrades and implementations for Finance and Human Resources Applications.
  • Collaborates with the Business areas to create test scenarios, test plans and test scripts.
  • Works with the Business areas to identify and develop deliverables of training materials to support the end users.
  • Facilitates discussions with Business to determine the extent to which the delivered solution(s) by the project team meets the needs of the business and document feedback from business.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    JOB SPECIFICATIONS
    EDUCATION
      • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Information Technology or related field required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    ???????OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATIONS
      • Appropriate certifications and other professional development/continuing education relevant to the role preferred (e.g. CBAP, Accounting Designation)
      • ITIL Foundation Version 3.0 Certification
    ??????????????REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
      • 5-7 years' experience with accounting systems, processes and analysis in a large/complex environment
      • 5-7 years' of Business Analysis in enterprise-scale projects with an solid understanding of the underlying technical architecture
      • Minimum of five (5) years of BC / Canadian healthcare project experience as a Business Analyst
      • Proficient with SQL programming languages including two or more years' experience creating queries
      • Proficient with PeopleSoft Reporting Tools: BI Publisher, PS Query, Pivot Grid, nVision, SQR, Process Scheduler, Studio Reports
      • Proficient with PeopleTools
      • Proficient with PeopleSoft Integration Tools: Integration Broker, Component Interface, Approval Framework
      • Proven track record working with Tableau and the MS SQL suite
      • Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment, supporting cross functional teams
      • Advanced problem solving skills
      • Excellent communication skills and command of the English language
      • Excellent organizational, quantitative, analytical reasoning, problem-solving and time management skills
      • Experience providing training/orientation to adults on new technology and concepts
      • Strong customer service orientation

    KNOWLEDGE
      • Specific knowledge of IIBA - BABOK guide and standards
      • Solidworking knowledge of the Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
      • Solid working knowledge of business analysis documentation standards, methodologies and best practices
      • Solid working knowledge of PeopleSoft 9.1/9.2 Finance, Budgeting, Payroll and Human Resources modules
      • Solid working knowledge of SharePoint 2010 and 2013
      • Solid working knowledge of Analytic visualization tools, e.g. Tableau
      • Knowledge of mobile device, infrastructure, database, and web solutions
      • Knowledge of First Nations healthcare and/or culture is an asset
