Adecco is currently recruiting for a full-time Senior Business Office Advisor to fill a 1-year contract position at a well-established integrated oil and natural gas company in Calgary, AB. In this pivotal role, you will provide operational oversight of the IT expense budget lifecycle. This includes monthly reconciliation of SAP actuals vs. budget for the current year, workflow approvals for spend requests, and forecasting the impact of new spend/projects on future year expense budgets. We invite detail-oriented individuals who are comfortable with deadlines, enjoy working with spreadsheets and numbers, and possess the necessary technical background and skills to apply. 

·       Location: Calgary, AB | Hybrid (4 days in office, 1-day WFH)

·       Shifts: Monday to Friday

Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Assist in the oversight of the ~$250 million annual expense budget to ensure spend is within budget.

·       Drive the monthly/annual/multi-year Corporate Planning budgeting/forecasting process for the IT organization (reconciliation, variance analysis, accruals).

·       Validate and investigate unplanned spend requests against the budget.

·       Meet as frequently as required with the extended IT Leadership team to forecast financial changes in response to changes in IT solutions.

·       Build adhoc/monthly, quarterly, annual spend reports for CIO and IT Directors.

·       Perform spend analysis of IT budget by business capability.

·       Work closely with the IT Portfolio team as accounting treatment changes from capital to expense and expense to capital are common scenarios.

·       Liaise with Corporate Accounting to structure monthly pre-pay, journal, and accruals submissions.

·       Liaise with Accounting Research to determine the appropriate financial treatment for IT projects and initiatives. 

Requirements and Qualifications:

·       Post-secondary education in a related field

·       Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a budgetary/accounting role working with an ERP Financial System.

·       Minimum of 3+ years of working knowledge/relevant experience within an IT department.

·       Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

·       Outstanding attention to detail with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.

·       Ability to adapt to conflicting demands and constantly evolving priorities.

·       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels.

·       Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

·       Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
