Service Writer
As Service Writer, you are the main point of contact between our customers and our service department. This key role is in daily contact with customers, technicians, parts professionals and administration. The Service Writer plans, communicates and executes scheduling of field/shop work, manages time and invoices work orders.
Frontier Power Products is a leading supplier of diesel engines, generator sets, industrial power units, and pump units. We represent John Deere Power Systems, Funk Power Transmission, Kubota, Kohler Generators, Mitsubishi (Large Bore), GE Stationary engines and Deutz natural gas fueled engines.
Major Duties:
- Plans, coordinates and executes a field/shop service schedule that maximizes productivity while surpassing customer expectations
- Provide repair and parts quotes/estimates
- Create work orders, administer technician hours, acquire approval signatures and invoices when job is complete
- Gather and maintain customer information by maintaining rapport explaining estimates/quotes, obtaining and providing telephone numbers, answering questions and concerns
- Maintains immaculate customer service records
- Check for service bulletins
- Make out of town arrangements for service techs
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
· Top notch communication skills and willingness to use them
· Extra strength organizational skills
· Excellent computer skills - Proficient with Microsoft Office Products and data/web-based systems
· Previous service experience in a dispatcher or coordinator role
· Demonstrated problem solving skills
· Exceptional customer service skills
· Willingness to learn about the generator industry
· Technical knowledge of generators/machinery would be an asset
