Shipping/Receiving Coordinator

Job Brief

We are looking for a full time Shipping/Receiving Coordinator to join our team. The candidate will work closely with members of our team to ensure that the product which is being shipped in or out is done so in a proper manner. They are responsible for maintaining shipping records and handle the paperwork associated with shipping duties.

The Shipping/Receiving Coordinator position is a support position for operations whom will be successful by providing accurate, complete and timely information to all other departments in the company.

Responsibilities

· Provide accurate, valid and complete information by using the right methods/tools
Follow communication procedures, guidelines and policies, including Company Motto (copy attached) and SOP’s

· Process all documentation associated with the movement of our clients' inventory into and out of the facility according to client requirements, and in an accurate and timely manner

· Prepare and print Packing Slips and Bills of Ladings

· Prepare and print shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs

· Prioritize daily tasks in an effective manner to positively impact all other departments

· Receiving: ensure all documentation is verified and processed appropriately, in an accurate and efficient manner

· Work with in-house computer programs and any customer driven websites or portals to process courier shipments and book appointments

· Process orders based on the buyer’s preferred shipping system (e.g. DHL, FedEx, etc.)

· Contact carriers/couriers via phone and/or e-mail to schedule shipping of all orders on a daily basis; contact carriers to pick-up empty containers after they have been offloaded

· Direct carriers for pickups and deliveries by providing instructions

· Cooperate with representatives from other departments in the organization to provide warehouse inbound/outbound information

· Complete all end of day closing procedures

· Provide back-up, assistance and vacation coverage to other department personnel as needed

· Always be prepared to learn new software and procedures as the customer’s requirements change

· Pursue continuous improvement initiatives to drive increased productivity and service levels

· Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management

Requirements

· Strong communication and relationship building skills

· Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

· Proven Shipping/Receiving experience

· Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening

· Familiarity with WMS systems and practices

· Excellent communication and presentation skills

· Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively

· High school degree

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
